I can't believe I've waited so long to write this review. I was unhappy in my current job but have extensive 10+ years in the film industry but in a very specialized area. Every time I applied for a new job I was pigeonholed into the same exact speciality I had been in before. I really wanted to branch out and have the skills to do that. I reached out to Mandy to help re-write my resume in the best way possible to highlight my immense experience but in a way that would also give me a "broader reach" than just in this one specialized area. I had to go to Southern California for an extensive one-week business trip and I had scheduled multiple meetings with clients across the region. Needless to say, I was excited and pumped, thinking that I had all my ducks-in-a-row and ready to go. That alone, had taken me a coupe of months to prepare ... Only when I got there, it dawned on me that my presentation package was missing an important piece of collateral: My own career detail. I mean, I had to have a presentation of "myself" too, to make it that much more interesting ... I had to CLOSE deals!
I needed to put together at least a small package with my resume, a compelling professional bio, career summary, all that, and FAST ... Aside from all the company material and sales presentation I had so carefully put together, I had nothing else to show. I was exhausted, had just landed, and got myself to my hotel room, now filled with anxiety. It was too late to start writing all this by myself. In a foreign city, not knowing anyone, and worried ... I resorted to Yelp, as it was the only resource I knew of, when so far away from home, that could hopefully show me the way around in lovely California, on a Friday night....
I called a few businesses and of course nobody was open. Mandy was the only one who answered the phone at around 7:30 at night. I figured I was really lucky... So I explained my situation to her and she was so comforting. She quickly sensed how urgent this was for me and started to work on my papers right away to ease my anxiety. I was so impressed with the format and the writing quality. Honestly, my career summary was LYRICAL. Who knew a stranger could write about you so well, when they really don't know you from Adam! What I want you to know is that she has a way with words. The writing was flawless! You know, that is very important.
Anyway, that's not all! What I have to say is that her own presentation of her work was so thorough, it left me flabbergasted! I thought I was getting a resume, a professional bio (one page), and a career summary (two or three short paragraphs). But she came back with a long email first that was sectioned from top to bottom in a table. It explained every strategy she had used in my resume in terms of the right keywords, where they were, and how to detect them. Of course, I didn't really need to know all this, because I wasn't looking for a job. But she still went the extra mile to explain all of it in writing. Next, she described the impact of all her action verbs and identified them on the resume. She also explained how the ATS system works, and on, and on ... I had my resume done before, years ago, when I just got out of college. Let me tell you, it was nothing like this.
When I read all the details she had shared about her work, I realized how much care she had put into it. But most importantly, it gave me exactly that added confidence that I was looking for. Now my presentation was complete. I could meet my clients and show them something that I was fully proud of, from every angle.
Off, I went, on Monday morning to meet my first client in Irvine. Needless to say, the client was interested in my detailed presentation and when I left behind my own career-related documents as a seal to show him my own solid skills and competence, he was very impressed. He liked it so much he said if you ever want to work here, don't hesitate to call us. He was basically offering me a job! Thanks, but I wouldn't leave Canada for the US. LOL!!! But that's besides the point.
The point is that I wanted to share my experience with Mandy. This was an investment I made in myself, in a hurry, and in a foreign country. If she could impress me, and I am not easily impressed, believe me, she can impress anyone.
And it's not just that the quality of work was high, the fact that she made herself available to me, carefully listed to everything I said, worked through the whole weekend for me without notice, spoke volumes, of the level of care and attention she was going to give to my papers.
She said she has been doing this for a long time...and it shows! She said she likes what she does, and once again, it shows! My son is going to need a resume soon. Although I am far away, I know her service is only an email away. I will not have anyone else write my son's resume but Mandy. You will hear from me again for sure. Thank you so much for helping me.

I got a MASTERPIECE darn it, not a resume! Seriously! I have been to 3 interviews already and the recruiter flat out asked me if I actually wrote this myself... So I gave him Mandy's name and he called Mandy right then and there to ask her if she would write resumes for his clients... I'm telling you, she knows what she is doing!
I have been working in the same field for years and have become an SME (Subject Matter Expert). So, I decided to apply for positions in academia and see if I can switch into teaching for a while. But I thought it is still a long shot, because I haven't applied for any jobs for more than 20 years while I was operating my own business.
I didn't know where to start...Should I write about the technicalities of my job itself, or should i describe the complexities of my business operations? How do you even get ready for interviews at my age??? Ohw well....

I had my resume done by another service on Yelp first and all they did, was take my draft and enter my content in a template software. I could have done it myself in a heartbeat. No wonder it was done in a couple of days... Very disappointing. But it was cheap, so you get what you pay for!

I just saw it as her being very focused. I wanted to chat more about my career and resume, but that's not what's needed for her to do her job. So I understand that.
I'm taking the time to write this because I do strategy and brand development for businesses. I'm very sensitive to bad reviews as often we as reviewers don't really realize the power of our opinions. They can have major impact on businesses especially small businesses. We should all be mindful of that. It's one thing to express our concerns about a bad experience we have... it's another to ruin someone's livelihood over a bad experience we had. I hate when someone has that kind of impact on a really excellent business.
This review is not a challenge to those that felt they had an unacceptable experience or didn't get the expected results. Respectfully, their experience is their experience and they have the right to write a review, good or bad. That's what makes this site great. It's just to say that the overwhelming majority of people are very happy with Mandy's service and "I'm one of them" and I felt the need to speak on it.

I didn't believe in hiring someone to write my resume before and thought my old resume was just fine. I finally got around to looking for someone to write mine and saw the reviews on Mandy. Worth every penny. I got a recruiter searching me out in under 2 wks of posting my resume online and within 3 wks, I got a job offer. Resume gets you in the door. The rest is up to you. The CEO said I can't care less what's on your resume. But I bet his recruiter / gatekeeper cared and Mandy got enough key words in there to get them interested.

As to the cover letter, it is well written with various catch phrases and a proactive ending. When I viewed my cover letter, I was surprised to see how much she inferred about my qualities from my experiences without talking to me. Because Mandy doesn't know the stories behind your experiences, I would recommend, if you want to use the cover letter service, write one yourself and have Many polish it.
I do suggest that you get the service at least two business days before your submission deadline if you are applying during hot seasons( even if you require rush service). Mine took three business days, but I think it's largely because my case is complicated.

As to the cover letter, it is well written with various catch phrases and a proactive ending. When I viewed my cover letter, I was surprised to see how much she inferred about my qualities from my experiences without talking to me. Because Mandy doesn't know the stories behind your experiences, I would recommend, if you want to use the cover letter service, write one yourself and have Many polish it.
I do suggest that you get the service at least two business days before your submission deadline if you are applying during hot seasons( even if you require rush service). Mine took three business days, but I think it's largely because my case is complicated.

After three years at the same job with no hope for a promotion in sight I knew that I needed desperate help in revamping my resume and was having a hard time figuring out where to turn next.
